What we collect

When you submit an enquiry through this website we collect your name, email address, mobile number, the address of the property you are connecting, your intended move-in date, and which services you are interested in. We also record the date and time you gave consent and the IP address the enquiry came from, so we have a record that consent was given.

If you go on to arrange a connection, the retailer you choose will generally require additional identity information such as your date of birth and identification document details. Where we collect this on their behalf we tell you at the time.

Why we collect it

We collect your information to compare plans available at your address, contact you about your options, and arrange the connection or transfer of the services you ask for. Without it we cannot provide the service.

Who we share it with

To arrange a connection we disclose your information to the energy or internet retailer you select. That retailer then deals with you directly under its own privacy policy, and we recommend you read it. We also use third-party service providers for website hosting, email and customer records; these providers only handle your information to deliver those services to us.

We do not sell your personal information.

How we contact you

By submitting the enquiry form you consent to us contacting you by phone, SMS or email about connecting or comparing your utilities. This consent is what permits us to call you even if your number is on the Do Not Call Register. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@utilityheroes.com.au, and we will stop contacting you for marketing purposes.

How we are paid

Our service is free to you. We receive a commission from the retailer you choose. We do not compare every provider or every plan available in your area.

Storage and security

Enquiries are stored in our website database and customer systems, protected by access controls and encrypted connections. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep enquiry records only as long as we need them for the purpose they were collected and to meet our legal obligations.
